Mitochondrial Energy Metabolism in Baby Hamster Kidney (BHK-21/C13) Cells Treated with Karnozin EXTRA®

چکیده

Carnosine is known as a natural dipeptide, which inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells throughout its action on mitochondrial respiration and cell glycolysis. However, not much about effects metabolism healthy cells. We explored Karnozin EXTRA® capsule with different concentrations L-carnosine, viability expressions intermediate filament vimentin (VIM) superoxide dismutase (SOD2) in normal fibroblasts BHK-21/C13. Furthermore, we investigated energy production these Cell was quantified by MTT assay. The Clark oxygen electrode (Oxygraph, Hansatech Instruments, England) used to measure “intact rate”, state 3 ADP-stimulated oxidation, maximum oxidation capacity activities complexes I, II IV. Results showed that 2 5 mM L-carnosine did induce toxic morphological changes treated Our data revealed dose-dependent immunofluorescent signal amplification VIM SOD2 BHK-21/C13 line. This supplement substantially increased recorded rates examined Due stimulation fibroblasts, our results suggested potentially protective dietary prevention diseases altered function.

Increased uptake of polyamines by baby-hamster kidney cells (BHK-21/C13) treated with alpha-methylornithine

when DNA synthesis is low, or cells treated with hydroxyurea to block DNA replication have lesser amounts of DNA methylase in this ‘nuclear matrix’ fraction. In addition. studies with cycloheximide indicate the association with the nuclear matrix also requires continuing protein synthesis. Solubilization of the matrix-bound DNA methylase activity has been achieved by using large amounts of mic~...

Selective killing of transformed baby hamster kidney (BHK) cells.

We report here that certain drugs can protect Syrian baby hamster kidney cells (BHK) in culture against the lethal agents cytosine arabinonucleoside, hydroxyurea, and colcemid. Polyoma virus-transformed BHK cells (PyBHK) are killed under the same conditions. The protective drugs include caffeine and streptovitacin A. Kinetic studies show that these drugs act specifically in G1, and that they sh...

Resistant Baby Hamster Kidney Cells

Hydroxyurea-resistant (HUD) baby hamster kidney cells were isolated, subcloned, and characterized. One clonal line, which contained elevated levels of ribonucleotide reductase, lost its HU resistance during passage in the absence of the inhibitor, whereas another clonal line was stably resistant. The replication of herpes simplex virus type 1 on these cells was compared with that of the parvovi...

Properties of baby-hamster kidney (BHK) cells treated with Swainsonine, an inhibitor of glycoprotein processing. Comparison with ricin-resistant BHK-cell mutants.

Baby-hamster kidney (BHK) cells were grown continuously in long-term monolayer culture in the presence of Swainsonine, an inhibitor of alpha-mannosidase II, a processing enzyme involved in glycoprotein biosynthesis. The asparagine-linked oligosaccharides (N-glycans) were isolated from Pronase-digested cells by gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and affinity chromatography on concanaval...

In vitro assembly of intermediate filaments from baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells.

Intermediate filaments (IF) from baby hamster kidney (BHK-21) cells can be disassembled at low ionic strength and reassembled upon addition of salt. Turbidimetric analyses show that reassembled IF exhibit the light scattering properties of long rods under physiological conditions (5 mM Na+/K+ phosphate, pH 7.2/170 mM NaCl at 21 degrees C). IF weight concentration, determined by centrifugation, ...
